Friend of Mine

Friend of Mine is an Australian label by Teale Talbot and Letitia McLean. Since its debut in 2009, Friend of Mine has quickly introduced a well thought out and well developed aesthetic. Friend of Mine has quickly captured the attention of stylists, bloggers and media alike as a standout brand recognized as a result of the combination of their experience and blend of attributes.

A rockabilly aesthetic is referenced throughout and is seen in the label's namesake, which is drawn from a cult Bob Dylan track. The look is one that is undeniably fashionable, yet in a simplistic thrown together style that is far from contrived. Friend of Mine's effortlessly cool nature results in versatile pieces, basics-with-a-twist as well as standout shoes and accessories. Whilst Friend of Mine has already carved out it's own signature aesthetic, each new collection brings a new palette of inspiration ranging from pop culture to music to childhood memories.

In July 2009, Friend of Mine secured a full-page feature in US Nylon magazine. This marked a milestone for the label, as it had not even hit stores in Australia yet. The well-deserved hype drew attention from a US agent who scouted them in November 2009.

2010 saw Friend of Mine land international stockists Shopbop and Nordstrom in their first season. For Winter 2011, Friend of Mine will also list David Jones as one of their key stockists - the collection landing in store in January 2011. May of that year saw the label debut at Rosemount Australian Fashion week.

Friend of Mine blends the expertise of two talented women with strong passion and ambition. The idea, partnership and dynamic they have built is one that is perfectly complimentary to one another, and is set to be a long lasting and successful collaboration.
