Sretsis

Inspired by a journey to the Pink City of Jaipur, Rajasthan, Sretsis rekindles with the long lost contentment culled from traveling and coexistence of style, which can only be witnessed in India.

From Maharaja rich to vagabond liveliness, India offers an unseasoned beauty steeped deep in soul-reaching spirituality, which has been reinterpreted into comfortable luxury, textile choices, daring print techniques and bold palette in "Weekend Wanderers".

The flaming eyes of the barefooted, laughing gypsy kids, who have no way of knowing where they'll end up for the night, are as alive as the city and as the surrounding vibrant colour scheme. This natural ethos is reflected in the collection. The defiance in these nomad kids redefines luxury that cannot be measured in wealth, but, instead, speaks the same language of free wills of the bon vivants circulating in the gypset world. The gypsetters fuses sophistications with offbeat conventions, and "Weekend Wanderers" strive to deliver such comfort and casual luxury through urban hippie styles, inspired by David Hamilton's photos and the 70s.

Taking cue from the legendary textile culture of India, Sretsis embraces the age old practice of layering and intricate handiwork, and translates them onto materials - from the Pink City's gold and silver lurex chiffon, mermaid applique lace in silk organza and cotton lawn, custom transparent dotted-swiss and seashell lace applique, digital print on silk, smocked chiffon, breezy cotton linen, mermaid's sparkling sequined hairs with pearl beadings on silk chiffon, tulle and knit. Championing easy comfort, cultured charms and wanderlust attitudes, "Weekend Wanderers" splash colourful, lively palette, led by playful tie-dye effect and a touch of gold is ever present for it serves as a reminder of spectacle. Neon Heart Peace sign, tie-dye and paisley scheme sneak their way into print design. Sea dwellers from unicorn and lion seahorses, seashells, starfish and sea goddess, the mermaid, represent all the drifting souls from Indian child wanderers to gypsetting hippies.

The patterns are loose fitting with lengthened length fit for roaming around over the weekend. Enabling impromptu trips, drawstring, smock detailed cuts provide ease in movements. "Weekend Wanderers" oozes a going out of town vibe, but, in fact, it easily fits in the everyday setting.
